Jacklyn Leybovich will present her Global Competency Program capstone project, “Veteran Homelessness Through a Global Lens,” during ACES on Monday, April 8, in room 2301.
The Global Competency Program is a two-year independent study in which students immerse themselves in another culture through travel; research; language; and community service. Students who complete the program earn recognition on their high school transcript as well as a certificate at graduation.
Leybovich, an 11th grade student, focused her research upon the housing struggles that soldiers face after completing military service; she also examined the various supports provided to veterans in the United States and beyond. Dr. Shawn Kenner served as her faculty mentor.
