Tri-M Music Honor Society is hosting a Battle Of The Bands on March 28 at 7 pm in the Black Box Theatre at Sharon High.
The event will feature many local bands, competing with each other for the prize of three hours of studio time at Mockingbird School Of Music in Easton. Second and Third place winners will also receive one hour of studio time at Mockingbird School Of Music.
Musicians will perform two songs, and audience members will vote to decide the winning band at the end of the night. Participating bands are excited to have the opportunity to perform and show audiences what they can do.
“Can’t wait to show the community what music means to us and how we can express ourselves with music,” said Wasin Dempsey, guitarist for one of the participating bands, Organ Reserve.
“The purpose of this event is for all of us to have some fun and jam, and give people a chance to perform in front of an audience while potentially winning some prizes,” said Liam Becker, a member of the event’s organization committee, a committee composed of members of Tri-M Music Honors Society.
While some bands are excited to compete and potentially earn some recording time in a professional studio, others are simply excited to perform and watch the bands performing alongside them.
“You don’t always get all the bands in town in one place. Everyone is bringing something really creative and different to this event so I’m psyched,” said Giacomo Woodbury, drummer of Ice Cream Dream Machine, another participating band.
The Battle of the Bands is will have a $5 entry fee. For more info, reach out to Mrs. Glenister at [email protected].
Tri-M hopes to see you there!
