Three weeks ago, screams and cheers filled the gym as Sharon High hosted its first pep rally of the year. While many were focused on SHS’s renowned costume contest, students were also entertained by the mummy wrap game set up by the student council. In this activity, one person stands still as a partner attempts to wrap them fully in toilet paper. Pairs from all four grades, as well as teachers, competed to create the best living mummy. Congratulations to seniors Victoria Kartashev and Henry Comeau, who won the game!

However, Kartashev and Comeau weren’t the only winners that day. The “Most Creative” award went to freshman Simrina Wadhwani with her marvelous Mad Hatter costume, while “Most Accurate” was given to sophomore Eli St. Clair for his elaborate knight costume.
These were amazing individual costumes, but for many, Halloween is a social event meant to be enjoyed with friends. For this reason, there were also “Best Duo/Trio” awards, as well as “Best Group Costume.” Sophomores Indra Singh and Anika Bhadouri, as ketchup and mustard, won “Best Duo,” and the Senior Superheroes were deemed the best group costume. Overall, the competition was entertaining and exciting, with lots of fun costumes and outfits to see. Every student who participated did a great job, even those who didn’t receive awards! Special thanks to the panel of judges: Mr. Sanborn, Mr. Charest, Dr. Cho, Mrs. Weishaar, and Mr. Banno.
