SHS Pride Day: June 10th

Today, June 10th is SHS Pride Day of Education! The SHS Gender and Sexuality Alliance invites you to celebrate our school’s LGBTQ+ pride and take part in honoring the queer community. SHS has a large LGBTQ+ community that is a core part of the school, and it wouldn’t be the same without them! We encourage you to educate yourselves on the community and what pride looks like today – join us for a workshop talking about the AIDS epidemic, the Stonewall riots, Imperialism and Gender Erasure, and the drag community including a guest speaker from the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Boston chapter during eagle block today.

Unfortunately, black trans women are targeted for violence the most within the queer community and the intersection of their identity puts them at risk. Learn more about the women who have been killed this year and their stories here:
