Student Question: Senioritis is kicking in. I need to keep my grades up, what should I do?
Abby’s Answer: One of my gym teachers once told me that the school year is like a baseball game: you’re either running at full speed or standing still. The good news is that we’re already past first base (winter break) and heading for second (February break) in just a few weeks. For right now, focus on keeping yourself going, always looking ahead to the next challenge. Then, when you catch a break, re-energize, get plenty of sleep, and enjoy it to the fullest. But don’t let your guard down until you’re home free in May!
Q: How do I get a valentine?
A: I usually get mine at CVS or Shaw’s. You’d better hurry up, though—by the week before, they’ll all be marked up like crazy. $7.99 for a valentine is just ridiculous. Not to mention that you’ll have to find someone to give it to as well.
Q: Which dividend stocks should I buy right now?
A: As the fourth place winner of the 2025 Sanborn Stock Market Simulation, I feel extremely qualified to answer this. I’ll tell you what not to buy: Monster Energy. I don’t even drink that stuff and I lost nearly ten thousand dollars on it. Buy Starbucks instead. The company, I mean. If you want coffee, it’s better at Dunkin.
Q: Hi, my name is also Abby! You have a cool name!
A: Excellent, it’s about time I started training an apprentice. If you or any other aspiring “Dear Abbys” are reading this, come to the Talon (2510, Mon/Wed) so that I may reveal unto you my secrets. Gabbys and Tabbys welcome to apply.
